The Spear management team is led by professionals with cross-functional experience in logistics. The Spear management team brings expertise and knowledge of latest international benchmarks, unmatchable local expertise honed by years of working in the Indian environment and, critically, a “Solution Providers” mentality.
The overriding philosophy of the Spear management team is to look beyond the immediate problems being faced by their clients and to put a sustainable long-term solution in place. In order to deliver the results Spear has put in a lean and flexible organization with a keen process orientation.
Some of the key members of the Spear Logistics team are:
Capt. Uday Palsule, Managing Director
Uday started his career in the Merchant Navy on Training Ship Dufferin. He completed his Master Mariners license from the U.K. and subsequently commanded some of the largest car carriers and self-unloading bulk carriers.
He has undergone several courses in supply chain management and logistics at various institutes and seminars including IIM-A. He has also been a faculty at IIM-A for management development programs and post-graduation programs on Third Party Logistics service providers. He has been a contributory participant several seminars including CII etc. He has also been teaching Supply Chain Management in Symbiosis Institute of International Business in Pune.
Gautam Dembla, Director & CEO
Gautam, with a postgraduate degree in Business Administration took charge of a large 3 PL company at the very start of operations in 1992. Under his charge the throughput handled for the company’s customers increased from a modest 160 million in 1992 to almost 3500 million in 1999. He was the CEO at the company from 1992 till he left to join a MNC Logistics company. He joined the MNC as a Director-Logistics and set up the Domestic Logistics division. Several warehouse intensive contracts and countrywide operations such as Cummins Auto Services, Crompton Greaves Mumbai warehouses and JVC distribution network stand out as his contribution in his Geo stint.
He has undergone operational training in Dubai and Kuwait, extensively at Mercedes Benz facilities and also at Jebel Ali Port with GAC shipping. Has attended several Logistics and Supply Chain Development programmes at IIMA. He has been a visiting faculty for the Post Graduate Diploma in Logistics Management at Symbiosis Institute of International Business in Pune.
Vivek Chaubal , CFO
Vivek has over 25 yrs of experience in managing all domains of accounting & finance.
He has worked at top management positions in various organizations of repute including Tata Capital Ltd, Apple finance, J M Financial, Traub, and Multinational Arab Group.
He holds expertise in raising funds, appraising project viability, analyzing existing systems & procedures, designing control systems and facilitate effective decision making. He has solid planning and organization skills.
He is a Chartered Accountant from ICAI and has done his B Com. He also holds degree in Law.
Anosh Aga, VP, Sales
Anosh has over 18 years of varied experience in Logistics and in General Management experience in the corporate world. His specialty is Operations and Sales to companies across verticals.
He has extensive experience in the Logistics & SCM domain across many segments viz. International & Domestic Freight, Customs, Warehousing & Distribution, Expedited Cargo, Modern Retail Operations, Multimodal Logistics Operations, Third Party Logistics etc. He has business development and general management experience in the corporate world.
His speciality is Logistics & Supply Chain Management solutions delivery to companies across verticals as well as direct experience in sales and marketing.
Manoj Thakur , Vice President – Controlled Temperature Distribution
Manoj spearheads Spear's Cold Chain Division - CTD and drives the development, implementation and expansion of business and infrastructure of the Cold Chain division.
With a keen process orientation, Manoj's focus at Spear`s Cold Chain Division, is to set up end-to-end logistics solutions for temperature-controlled food products through a nationwide cold-chain.
With 17 years of cross-functional experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution and sales and marketing, Manoj brings expertise and knowledge of industry best practices and unmatched local expertise honed by years of working in the Indian logistics environment.
Prior to this, Manoj worked with ColdStar Logistics Pvt. Limited as General Manager - Logistics. In his previous position, he worked with Aditya Birla Retail Limited as a member of the core supply chain team. He has had great tenure with Snowman Frozen Foods Limited as Regional Manager – West, responsible for four cold warehouse operations located at Mumbai, Pune & Goa. Also spearheaded the company`s growth in refrigerated transport division in the western region. Manoj started his career in 1994 with ATC located at Delhi.
